Based on Victoria’s Hislop international best-seller “The Island“, “To Nisi” is a story about love and pain, separation and fear  weaving true facts or events and fictional characters  and taking place in the cretan island of Spinalonga, during its years as a leper colony.

The story takes place around Zagreb in 1941-1943, during World War II. Two groups of smugglers led by Crni Rok and Veriga, fight for supremacy on the black market. They also have to deal with the Germans, Ustashas, the police and communist illegals.

Based on the blockbuster novel of the same name by Gordana Kuić, Scent of Rain In The Balkans follows the fortunes of the Salom family from the summer days of 1914, all the way through to 1945.
